How do I submit a takedown request?
To submit a takedown request, please email copyright@politikstudio.de with a detailed description of the work you believe has been infringed, the exact URL or location on politikstudio.de, and your contact information. We aim to acknowledge receipt within two business days. If you have a broader complaint about our content, you may also refer to our complaints procedure.
Your request must include your full name, address, telephone number and email address; a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the material is not authorised; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf. We may request additional information to verify your claim. We recommend that you consult with legal counsel before submitting a takedown notice.
What happens after I submit a request?
Upon receiving a valid takedown request, Politikstudio will review the claim and, if warranted, remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material. We will notify the party who posted the material and may restore it if they provide a valid counter-notification. Our review process involves the Chefredaktör, the fact-checking team under Birgit Schmitt, and our legal advisors.
We aim to resolve all claims within 14 days. If the claim is complex or requires legal guidance, we may take additional time. We will keep both parties informed throughout the process. We maintain a register of all takedown requests and actions taken, which is reviewed regularly by the Chefredaktör and the legal team. This register is confidential but may be disclosed to regulatory authorities if required by law.
